Taking care of ourselves is top priority, especially in today's crazy, fast, get it all done filled days.
Below are three ways you life balance in check so that you are ready for all the challenges you face everyday in your personal, business and wherever life takes you!
Exercise - Several months ago, my husband and I bought new bikes to ride around the neighborhood. We wanted bikes that are easy to handle and easy to ride. We didn't get cheap bikes, we searched for well made, sturdy and easy to ride bikes. We didn't realize just how much we enjoyed riding bikes. It's easy on the joints and a great workout for the legs and those muscles we use to 'hold ourselves up'. Be sure to find way to exercise that you enjoy because you will stay motivated.
Get plenty of sleep - sleep gives your mind and body the opportunity to rest and recover from the day's activities and gets you ready for the next day. I get at least seven hours during the week. There are nights where I have a tough time getting to sleep and I realize it those nights where I have been on the computer too late. It's important to gear down for about an hour so your mind is not racing.
Eat clean food. About a year ago, my husband and I starting cooking 99% of our meals at home. We feel better and we've lost a lot of weight along the way. I never realized how preservatives tear down your metabolism and the chemicals involved hurt your body so much. I have never felt more alive and haven't felt this good in many years. We have reduced our dairy, sugar, flour and wheat intake as well. Consider eating clean more often than not. Now and then we will splurge on a dessert but not very often and sometimes I eat biscuits; however, I do feel the affects the next day -- headache and fatigue.
