Leadership is about helping others achieve goals through guidance and sharing our experience.
However, many people take leadership too far and turn it into chaos when they want to take over and not confer with their team.

Great leaders motivate by inspiration; by being the 'cheerleader' of the team. They set a vision of how they believe a dream can be a reality. They also know their own strengths and weaknesses and look for team members to fill the gap of their knowledge and experience.  Enable others to act on what they have to share. When the team wins; the leader wins.

A leader can be CEO of a company, the Executive Director of a non-profit organization OR can be the first-year employee in charge of changing procedures that have been in place for years. It is how you direct others in a positive way to get the job done.

Remember, if you 'lead with your heart'  you will learn more about your team and yourself over the long-term effort and others will want to be on your team!

              Had a wonderful time speaking to the IAAP West Houston Chapter members about Leadership.  The title of my presentation was Leadership Empowers and it was a two-hour workshop with two fun activities involving leadership and teamwork and it was fantastic! The ABCs of Leadership

You, me and everyone else has our own unique style of leadership. It's important, however, to lead by example of what you expect of your team members. For me, it involves: A - Apply the leadership skills that you have learned but be open to improving yourself.  Remember how you want to be treated by others.  Trust and respect are critical to be part of a successful team. B - Be there for your team; no matter what happens. Support them in their efforts to be creative and educate them on how to process certain aspects of their postion.
